Hysterosalpingo-Foam-sonography (HyFoSy) is a simple and well-tolerated ultrasound procedure used to assess tubal patency, as well as detect gross abnormalities of the uterus and endometrium. Hospitalisation or anaesthesia is not required.

Hysteroscopy is a surgical procedure. The physician uses a hysteroscope, which is a thin, lighted, telescope-like instrument that is inserted into your uterus through the vagina to diagnose and at the same time treat uterine problems (e.g. remove polyps, fibroids or perform a biopsy). The procedure requires light sedation.

Laparoscopy is a surgical procedure performed under general anaesthesia. The typical laparoscopy involves a small (1/2- to 3/4-inch) incision in the belly button. A thin telescope like instrument is used to allow the surgeon to visualize the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries and surrounding organs. One to three further small incisions are required depending on the nature of surgery accordingly.

Hysterectomy is a surgical procedure where the surgeon removes the uterus.  It is performed via laparoscopy, vaginally, or by open surgery.  Any  cancer of gynaecological nature, as well as uterine fibroids, extensive endometriosis, adenomyosis and uncontrolled vaginal bleeding are some of the reasons hysterectomy could be performed. Hospitalisation and general anaesthesia is required.
